Rock and Roll Hall of Fame To Host Rolling Stones Retrospective
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.27.2013

Billboard reports that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland are set to house an exhibition dedicated to the Rolling Stones. It will be the first time they've had a show dedicated to their career.

The Rolling Stones: 50 Years of Satisfaction exhibit will have personal items and "extraordinary collections that have never been seen before by the public."

Greg Harris, President and CEO of the Hall of Fame and Musuem, said: "The Rolling Stones are the epitome of rock and roll. This first-ever exhibit gives us an opportunity to tell the story of one of the definitive rock and roll bands. The experience should be on every music fan's destination list this summer."

It will open on Friday, May 24 and will run until March 2014. The exhibit will take up two and a half hours of the building and will include artifacts, film, text and interactive technology. The Museum will host several free public programs that explore the history of the band including interviews, films, and special lectures.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York City previously hosted its own film retrospective: The Rolling Stones: 50 Years on Film, which finished on December 2012. The Stones were inducted into the Rock Hall in 1989.
