Justin Bieber Booed At Concert For Being Late
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.05.2013

Billboard reports that Justin Bieber apologized to his fans and their parents after they claimed he took the stage almost two hours late for a concert in London.

Beiber says he was only 40 minutes late and blamed technical issues. Here is his statement:

"Since i have been here it hasn't been easy with the press at times but i have loved it. so let me say this…

Last night i was scheduled after 3 opening acts to go on stage at 935 not 830 but because of some technical issues i got on at 10:10..so..i was 40 min late to stage. there is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone we upset. However it was great show and Im proud of that

And tonight we will run on time and look forward to putting on an amazing show for everyone in attendance. my relationship with the media is not always easy but im trying. Im all about the music and the performance and i respect my fans.

I never have any intent to upset or let anyone down. and Im not okay with things being exaggerated. once again sorry for anyone upset. now we have a show to do today and Im gonna focus on the positive and put on a great show tonight here in London.

NIGHT 2 at the 02 is gonna be even better. get ready. thanks. we have also made adjustments to the set times to have me go on earlier for the coming shows. see u there.
"

Those in attendance said he appeared onstage at the O2 Arena on Monday at 10:30 PM, when he was scheduled for 8:30. Many people in the audience, who waited for hours, had to either leave early or miss the last trains home.

One parent, Louise Cooper, took her 9-year-old daughter as a birthday present. She said: "There were teenage girls crying outside. The ladies sitting with us had to leave after 20 minutes and they had spent 70 quid (70 pounds, about $106) each on a ticket, which is really bad. It's one thing if your demographic is 50-year-olds, but his demographic is lots of little girls who need to go home and go to bed."

Another mother, Tracy Wilson, went to the show with her teenage daughter and said people began to boo when Bieber didn't appear by 9:30. She said the lack of explanation was "disgusting".

The venue apologized "to all the Justin Bieber fans for the lateness of his show tonight."

Critics have said that Bieber is risking alienating his fans by doing the same thing that several rock stars have done in the past. The Evening Standard's John Aizelwood said that Bieber showed "contempt" for young fans, leaving them "exhausted, disillusioned and probably late for school this morning."

Bieber is set to play three more nights tonight through Thursday, and has been photographed in town during his current tour.
