Elton John Requests Separate Hotel Room For His Glasses

Some of them require a special temperature...
The Daily Telegraph reports that Elton John has requested that his accessories (including his glasses) get their own hotel room but the temperature be kept at 60.8 F (16C). John is set to perform in Belo Horizonte in the state of Minas Gerais on Saturday as part of his world tour, which includes five dates in Brazil. He will perform in front of up to 60,000 people at the Mineirãostadium, where tickets cost up to $346.
A spokesman for the production company said he will stay at the city's five-star hotel Ouro Minas, where he asked for an international phone line and access to cable TV, specifically sports channels. The spokesman said: "Elton John asked for an extra room in the hotel for some of his collection of glasses because he needs a temperature of 16C to preserve the accessories."
She added that he wanted five large bottles or 12 small bottles of San Pellegrino sparkling water and eight small bottles of French Evian water, along with large vases of red and white roses, four bottles of cranberry juice, a pint of fresh skimmed milk and two bottles of good quality Pinot Grigio wine. The most notable demand was the phone line and TV channels.
She added: "What stands out is the request for a phone line with international access and, surprisingly, a television with access to local channels and cable. In the latter, there is yet another requirement: that among the channels, he specifically has the sports channels."
A spokesman for Elton John said the claims were untrue.
