Mariah Carey, Demi Lovato, and Nicki Minaj Enjoy Surge on Billboard's Social 50 Chart

Billboard reports that Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Demi Lovato have gotten some surges on the Social 50 chart this week.
Mariah Carey had the biggest positional jump going 46-31 with the addition of 65,000 new Facebook fans. This pushes her to over 10 million likes on the platform. She made the announcement today via a post on her page. In addition, the momentum came partly as a result of the debut of her newest single "Almost Home" from the Disney film Oz The Great and Powerful, out tomorrow. The audio for the single debuted on Carey's VEVO channel on March 1. It has received only 100,000 views to date, but the activity still spurred a 15% rise in activity for the channel for the week (2.7 million views overall).
Nicki Minaj moved 16-6 on the tally with the help of her song with French Montana, "Freaks." Minaj released a behind-the-scenes video with scenes from the duo's forthcoming music video which was shared on Minaj's Facebook page. This lead to a 29% increase in reaction for the week and the addition of over 136,000 new fans for Minaj on Facebook. She also had a jump in Twitter followers as she added 67,000 for the week (33% increase).
Demi Lovato unveiled her official lyric video for her new single "Heart Attack," which gave her a 20-12 rise on the Social 50 chart. She released the track via an interactive online campaign where fans were able to unlock the clip by tweeting the song's lyrics with the hashtag "#UnlockHeartAttack." The video had nearly 500,00 views in the three days remaining in the charting week since it debuted on March 1. The audio for the song was released on Lovato's VEVO page on February 25. It has since received over 3.7 million views to date. Lovato gained 343,000 fans overall during the week. Her song "Heart Attack" debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. It also had 215,000 digital copies sold according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Justin Bieber took the top spot going 4-1 after he released the lyric video for "Right Here," featuring Drake. The video had over 2 million global views on VEVO since its release. Bieber had 23 million overall plays during the week. Bieber gets the top spot with the addition of 732,000 new fans and a 4% increase overall.
Rounding out the top 10: Britney Spears at No. 2; Rihanna went 1-3; One Direction went from 3-4; Taylor Swift hit No. 5; Justin Timberlake was No. 7; and Bruno Mars went up from 10-8; and Eminem went from 11-9; Beyonce slid from 9-10.
