Impressive numbers for Timberlake...
Billboard reports that Justin Timberlake's appearance as the musical guest and guest host on Saturday Night Live this weekend pushed the show to a sizable ratings increase.
Early Nielsen figures give the show a 5.9 rating among metered-market households and a 15 share. This is the largest haul for the NBC series in 14 months when Charles Barkley hosted the show in January 2012. The show averaged a 3.7 rating among adults 18-49 in 25 markets with Local People Meters. This is another ratings high for the show not achieved since Barkley as well.
Timberlake has made several cameo appearances on the show before, but Saturday marked the first time Timberlake hosted the show since May 2011. His previous hosting gig drew 9.8 million viewers with a 3.5 rating with adults 18-49 when the final numbers came in.
The current high for this season was set by host Adam Levine in January which drew a final rating of 2.7 with adults 18-49 and 7.3 million viewers. Timberlake is on track to surpass both numbers.
Final ratings for Timberlake's appearance on the show will be available later this week.
