David Bowie to Claim First UK #1 Album In Twenty Tears

The Next Day is a hit...
David Bowie's new album is likely to return him back to #1 on thew UK album charts for the first time in twenty years. NME reports that The Next Day is currently on target to finish at #1, which would be his first since 1993's Black Tie White Noise. The album had the biggest first day numbers of any album this year thus far with 56,000 sold and is tripling the sales of its closest competitor, What About Now by Bon Jovi.
Official Charts Company Managing Director Martin Talbot said of the news, "Bowie is officially back! The Next Day is a true gift for all Bowie aficionados. It already sounds like a classic Bowie album – and its popularity this week is already showing that the great British public have taken it to their hearts."
