Heart failure...
Billboard reports that the original guitarist of Yes, Peter Banks, passed away in his London home last Thursday at the age of 65.
An official statement was released on the official site of Banks' other band, Flash.
Banks was born in England in 1947. He played guitar with Yes on their first two albums (1969's Yes and 1970's Time and a Word), before he left over creative differences. He went on to play in Flash until 1973. He continued to play music until his death and was working on the live collection Flash - In Public. He was found after failing to attend a recording session.
Yes said in a statement: "We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of fellow bandmate and founding Yes member. He was a huge piece of the fabric that made Yes what it is, and our thoughts, sincere condolences, and prayers are with him and his family. Peter, we shall miss you greatly."
