[VIDEO] Chris Brown Facing Drug Charges in Ghana For Smoking Pot Onstage
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 03.15.2013

Chris Brown needs to learn when and where it's okay to spark up. Radio.com reports that Ghanaians are calling for Brown's prosecution on drug charges after he lit up a joint on stage during a show last week. You can see the clip of the video below.

Jonathan Osei-Owusu, the executive director of Ghanaian youth advocacy organization Perfector of Sentiments [POS], told the site, "He promoted an illegality. You can see from the video and yet he was let go free."

Osei-Owusu has called on key figures in Ghana such as Parliament and the U.S. Ambassador to act, accusing Brown of inciting young people against Ghanaian law. The statement reads, "He is on video to have encouraged the audience to take up arms against people who stand in their way to smoking weed. In our prisons, many are incarcerated for same."

The event's organizers say it was a stunt and Brown didn't smoke pot, but Osei-Owusu said he was there and noted, "When you live in the city or the village, you understand the smell of marijuana. I was there. We smelled weed. That is what he promoted."
