In an interview with Times Magazine (via Yahoo! UK), Taylor Swift reportedly revealed that her hit song, "I Knew You Were Trouble," was written about her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles of One Direction.
Swift had been rumored to have written the song about Styles after the two briefly dated in secret last summer before trying to date again later in the year. In an interview, Swift stated: "You're balancing the analytical side of your brain, which is telling you where to go and how to go there, with the other side of your brain, which is saying 'Feel everything you're singing, and show it on your face. Feel everything exactly as you felt it when you wrote the song."
When asked if she would "die" if she had to sing a song she'd written about an ex-boyfriend in front of them, she went on to admit she was in a situation such as that when she performed "Trouble" at the BRITS, stating, "Well, it's not hard to access that emotion when the person the song is about is standing by the side of the stage watching."
The only apparent ex of Swift in the audience at the BRITS when she performed was Harry Styles. So this likely means Swift originally wrote the song about Styles.
