Billboard reports that prosecutors in the UK presented their case yesterday against two men accused of planning to rob and kill Joss Stone. Prosecutors say the men planned on decapitating her and throwing her body in a river.
The suspects are Junior Bradshaw (32) and Kevin Liverpool (35). They were arrested in June 2011 close to the singer's home after neighbors reported them to the police. They never reached her home. Prosecutor Simon Morgan said they left their home with a samurai sword, knives, a hammer, black bags and gloves to go to Stone's house in Devon. They were allegedly part of a gang that planned it, but no other members were found.
Morgan said that handwritten notes found in their car made references to "decapitate", "Jocelyn RIP" and "Once Jocelyn's dead ... find a river to dump her."
The motive is unknown, but Morgan said they may have targeted her for money or because they didn't like her ties to the royal family. The notes said that they didn't like Stone being invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011. The defendants deny all charges and the trial is ongoing.
