Due to illness...
Billboard reports that Meat Loaf has canceled another show on his "farewell" tour of the UK due to health issues. This is now five total shows, out of eight, that he has canceled. His last cancellation was on Sunday for a show in Nottingham, hours before he was set to perform.
An apology was posted on Facebook which said that "several members of the band" were sick and the show would be rescheduled to May 20.
Meat Loaf (real name Marvin Lee Aday) has had various health problems over the years. In 2003, he collapsed on stage in London and then had heart surgery after being diagnosed with a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat. In 2007, he canceled a European tour after discovering a cyst on his vocal chords. In 2011, he collapsed again in London, blaming past concussion injuries and his asthma. Last year he had knee replacement surgery and is expected to get surgery on his other knee soon.
He recently told The Guardian that this tour was his last. He said: "I want to concentrate more on acting. That's where I started and that's where I'll finish. This time, they're not going to rope me back in."
