Dizzee Rascal Says He Put A New Spin On EDM With The Fifth
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.14.2013

Dizzee Rascal told NME that he wanted to put a "different spin" on EDM with his new album The Fifth, which will be out on July 1. It features collaborations with Jessie J, will.i.am and Robbie Williams.

He said: "I'd say it's more a Europop sound, the sort of synths on it, you know? I went out and made this record in Miami with no distractions, working with people like RedOne, because I wanted to have a more international sound this time, and yeah, you can hear it, definitely. Most EDM, like Tiesto and Calvin Harris, has singing on it, so I wanted to put some rap on it, give it a different spin. But it's still me. It's more a world album. I wanted to do something that sounded international. I mean, I still have the same accent on the tracks. I just wanted to do something that had a lot of fun to it, a great summertime album for people to get wild to. It's got the sun in it, this album, you know what I mean?"

The album also features Calvin Harris, Tinie Tempah, Bun B, Trae the Truth and Angel as well as songwriters Warren Okay 'Oak' Felder, Andrew 'Pop' Wansell, Jean-Baptiste Kouame and RedOne.

Here's the track list:

'Superman'
'I Don't Need A Reason'
'We Don't Play Around' (ft Jessie J)
'Good' (ft Angel)
'Spend Some Money' (ft Tinie Tempah)
'Arse Like That' (ft Sean Kingston)
'Something Really Bad' (ft will.i.am)
'Goin Crazy' (ft Robbie Williams)
'Love This Town' (ft Teddy Sky)
'H Town' (ft Bun B and Trae Tha Truth)
'Heart Of A Warrior' (ft Teddy Sky)
'Life Keeps Moving On'
Bonus Track - 'Bassline Junkie'
