Diplo Says Beyonce Scrapped Her New Album And Started Over
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.12.2013

In an interview with The Sun, producer Diplo revealed that Beyonce may have scrapped all or part of her album and started over. Here are highlights:

On working with Beyonce: "I just did two songs for her new album, well, I tried. I think she scrapped the record. The record was supposed to be done and they have been hitting me up for brand new ideas. I like to work from scratch, [but] sometimes I get called in to fix records."

On working with Katy Perry: "I just did some stuff with Katy Perry, I don't know if it will come out. She's so confident and has a great voice. I always worry about making the pop tracks too weird, but then if people want a Diplo record they must know I'm going to be fucking weird."

On M.I.A. and who he likes to work with: "M.I.A always wanted to have big hits. Me and M.I.A were so uncredible, her whole story was like a joke, y'know. The only people I meet who want to have a 'cool, underground hit' are people like Drake and Usher. People who seek credibility make me not give a f*** about it. But I'm always trying to be one step ahead. Even with M.I.A., Paper Planes almost got her dropped from the label and then it became a Top 10 hit."
