The Belfast Telegraph reports that over fifty fans were arrested at an Eminem concert in Dublin this past Saturday. 22 were arrested for "public order offenses," while another 35 were arrested for minor drug offenses. There were also five reported assaults and one person was detained for driving under the influence.
Superintendent Michael Devine said most of the fans (of which there were 80,000) didn't cause any problems, stating the following…
"The vast majority of fans heeded the advice given in advance of the event which ensured everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience."
Security was increased after nine people were injured during a violent incident at a Swedish House Mafia concert in Phoenix Park last year. Around 750 Garda officers were on duty with 500 more local stewards on the ground to keep the event safe. Those in attendance were searched at three different entry points for alcohol, drugs and weapons.
Promoter MCD has praised the people in the audience who behaved themselves.
