At an event hosted by the Coen Brothers...
NME reports that Jack White, Marcus Mumford and Patti Smith are some of the names set to perform at a show in New York next month, hosted by the Coen Brothers (Joel and Ethan) and T Bone Burnett. The event is called "Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating The Music of Inside Llewyn Davis" and will feature live performances of the music in the film, along with songs from the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene that inspired it. The event takes place on September 29 at the Town Hall venue in the city. Other performers include Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, Joen Baez and Secret Sisters.
Stars of the film, including John Goodman, Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan (Mumford's wife) will perform. A portion of the proceeds go to the National Recording Preservation Foundation.
The soundtrack for the film will be released on November 11. It was produced by T Bone Burnett with the Coen Brothers, who also all worked together on the soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou?. It features fourteen songs, including a never-before-released Bob Dylan recording of his song "Farewell" (recorded during the sessions for his 1964 album The Times They Are A-Changin'). It also features performance from Mumford, Mulligan and Justin Timberlake (who appears in the film). The movie will be out on December 6.
