After 20 years...
NME reports that the director's cut of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" music video has been posted online. The video was directed by Anton Corbjin.
While it's mostly the same as the original version, it has more focus on the obese woman and young girl dressed in robes 3/4 of the way through the song. It was first available as part of Corbjin's Director's Series DVD in 2005, but hasn't been online until now.
The video will be a part of the reissue for the album the song appears on, In Utero. A re-mastered version of the band's third and final studio album will be released for its 20th anniversary on September 23. It features 70 songs, including previously unreleased recordings and demos, B-sides and compilation tracks and live material with the band's final touring line-up of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear.
The album's producer, Steve Albini, said those who criticized the album when it was released are "parasites". It was called "raw" and "abrasive" compared to 1991's Nevermind, which some fans and critics felt was a step in the wrong direction.
