Luke Bryan to remain at No. 1…
Billboard reports John Mayer's new album, Paradise Valley, is likely to hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart next week.
The album is Mayer's sixth studio release. Industry sources believe the album will sell about 150,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, August 25. The chart's new top ten will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, August 28.
Luke Bryan's Crash My Party will likely remain in the top slot and block Mayer from No. 1. Bryan's album debuted last week with 528,000 copies sold. Even if the album erodes more than 70%, it would still sell more than the projections for Mayer's release.
Other albums expected to make high debuts next week include: TGT their debut set 3 Kings (expected to sell 65,000 or so); and Jimmy Buffett's Songs From St. Somewhere (55,000).
