Kendrick Lamar Gets Big Jump on Billboard Social 50 Chart at No. 15

Billboard reports that rapper Kendrick Lamar re-entered the Billboard Social 50 chart with his appearance on the Big Sean song, "Control."
Lamar placed at No. 15 after the release of the song created one of the biggest news stories in hip-hop this year. Big Sean released "Control" on August 12. The song featured Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica. During the song, Lamar claimed to be the "king of New York," and he also called out J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, and more.
The social media buzz on the song saw Lamar rise 122% in conversation on Facebook as well as 88,000 new fans on the platform. On Twitter, Lamar added over 208,000 followers (a 510% bump in weekly acquisition). The news item also generated 200,000 page views to his Wikipedia page.
Enrique Iglesias also re-entered the Social 50 at No. 33 after promoting the official video for his single, "Turn the Night Up." Iglesias' promotion on Facebook and Twitter saw a 94% increase in fans.
One Direction went up from 4-1 to reclaim the top spot from Justin Bieber who went down to No. 2. Rounding out the top 10: Katy Perry remained No. 3; Shakira moved up from 10-5; Miley Cyrus went down from 5-6; Ariana Grande was No. 7; Selena Gomez was No. 8; Britney Spears jumped up from 12-9; and Justin Timberlake moved down from 9-10.
