She's doing well...
In an interview with Hello magazine, Michael Jackson's mother Katherine provided an update on her fifteen-year-old granddaughter Paris, who attempted suicide in June by slashing her wrists with a meat cleaver and taking a large number of Motrin pills. Here are highlights:
On how Paris is doing: "She is in a good place, getting the help she needs. She is doing much better. The treatment is going good, really good. She's my baby. It's hard for me, really hard. All I wanted these kids to be is happy. The night Michael died Paris was crying and said, 'I want to go and see daddy; I don't want to be without him.'"
On still grieving for Michael: "There's not a day goes by that I don't think about him; when I don't shed a tear. He was a very good father, the best. He was a good son, too."
On how her parenting differs from Michael's: "They were sheltered a lot when Michael raised them. I had thought about it and I said, 'I am not going to raise them like that (wearing masks). But Michael had a good reason. He was trying to protect them."
