It's called High Rise...
NME reports that Stone Temple Pilots have officially announced a new EP with Chester Bennington. The EP, called High Rise, will have five tracks and will be out on October 8 through 12Star Records. While an official track list has not been revealed, both "Out of Time" and "Tomorrow" are expected to be on it. This will be the first official release from the group with Bennington as the singer.
The band continues to have a rocky relationship with former frontman Scott Weiland, who they fired in February. Weiland has said they will have to "buy me out of the company" as a result. The band previously warned him about playing a solo tour featuring a performance of the band's album Core, but he did it anyway. In May, the band filed a lawsuit to stop him from using their name or songs and said the firing was due to addiction and constant lateness. He filed a counter suit saying the band had no legal right to get rid of him.
Weiland is currently touring the US as Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts. STP begin a tour of the US, Japan and New Zealand next month with Chester Bennington, who is still a member of Linkin Park.
