Robin Thicke is finally dethroned...
Katy Perry has done what no other song could do for the past twelve weeks and knocked Robin Thicke off the top spot in the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard reports that Perry's "Roar" ascended a position to #1 this week on the chart, marking the first time since June 5th that the chart hasn't been topped by "Blurred Lines." Perry's song lead the Digital Songs chart for a third week and rose to the top of the On-Demand Songs chart to claim the spot.
Meanwhile, "Blurred Lines" doesn't fall far, having slipped just one spot to #2. Eminem's new track "Berzerk" made its debut at #3 on the chart, making it his fifteenth Hot 100 top ten hit while Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" was down one spot to #4. Jay Z's "Holy Grail" featuring Justin Timberlake was up one spot to #5.
In the bottom half of the top ten, Lady Gaga's "Applause" was down two spots to #6 while Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" was steady at #7. Lorde made her debut in the top ten with "Royals," up four from last week to #8, while Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" was down four to #9. Lana Del Rey and Cedric Gervais closed out the top ten with "Summertime Sadness," down one from last week.
