Grande will likely place as No. 1…
Billboard reports that Ariana Grande and Tamar Braxton are likely heading to the top of next week's Billboard 200 chart with their new albums.
Grande's debut release, Yours Truly, has a shot at making No. 1 per industry sources. The set is projected to sell between 110,000 to 120,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, September 8. If Grande places No. 1, she'll be the first female artist to do so with a debut album since January of 2010 when Ke$ha opened at No. 1 with Animal.
Braxton's Love and War is on course for a start of around 100,000 to 110,000 copies sold. The number could fluctuate as the week progresses due to some publicity generated by the season premiere of Braxton's new reality TV series, Tamar & Vince.
Other albums set to make high debuts next week include Hesitation Marks by Nine Inch Nails, Love in the Future by John Legend, and Appreciation Day by Jaheim. Nine Inch Nails' new album is expected to bow at No. 3 with around 100,000 copies.
The new chart top 10 will be released on the morning of Wednesday, September 11.
