They claim he made knockoffs of their design…
TMZ reports that Drake is being sued by a jeweler for allegedly making knockoffs of a $50,000 owl pendant.
The jeweler Baden Baden Inc. (owned by designer Michael Raphael) filed the lawsuit. They claim that Drake hired the company to make a custom diamond-studded platinum owl pendant back in January and paid $49,204. Baden Baden says in June gold duplicates of the pendant started surfacing on Drake's Instagram. Per the lawsuit, the company claims that Drake took their original design, copied it, and handed the knockoffs to his friends.
Baden Baden is suing for copyright infringement, demanding unspecified damages. They also want Drake to hand over the owl copies.
One possible sticking point is that Drake has been using the owl logo for years. It was also used in the cover of his 2011 mixtape.
