The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Courtney Love is planning to sue the former attorney of Kurt Cobain's estate for accusing her of fraud and "pillaging" Kurt Cobain's estate for her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
Love went on Twitter and the media and attacked former attorney Rhonda Holmes in January. She was accused of hurting Holmes' reputation by saying "they got to" her and she was "bought off." During the defamation lawsuit, Love claimed in April 2009, Holmes sent her daughter a letter and accused her of fraud.
Love has filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court against Holmes for making "shockingly false and misleading representations" to Frances Bean in the letter. The countersuit claims Holmes is guilty of 'legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and interference'. She blames Holmes for the 'deterioration of her relationship with the Cobain trustees' and Frances filing a restraining order against Love.
She claims that in the letter , Holmes wrote to Frances (who was 16 at the time): "I represent you, along with your Grandmother Wendy, and your Aunts Kim and Brianne...I am here to protect your interests...The work I am doing on all your behalf relates to tracking down and prosecuting the people and entities who have been stealing from and pillaging your late Father's estate since the day he passed away."
The author of the letter is also being disputed, as Holmes' lawyers claim Love wrote it. Neither party has commented on this latest lawsuit.
