Cyrus gets No. 1 for the first time ever…
Billboard reports that Miley Cyrus topped this week's Billboard Social 50 chart.
Cyrus hit the top spot for the first time. Cyrus is the 16th artist to reach the No. 1 spot on the chart, and her ascension was due in part to the debut of her "Wrecking Ball" music video. One million conversations were reportedly recorded on Cyrus on Facebook, adding 207,000 new to the platform (8% increase). Cyrus also had 201,000 new Twitter fans (100% increase over the previous week) to bring the total amount of fans she added across all networks to 639,000 for the charting week. Her Wikipedia page had traffic increase by 99% over the previous week as well with 752,000 page views.
Linkin Park re-entered the Social 50 chart at No. 43 after a campaign designed to promote their new single, "A Light That Never Comes." The promotion entered around the band's new custom 3D Facebook game, #LPRecharge, where users can unlock the song. The band also announced the release of their remix album, Recharged, due out on October 29.
Justin Bieber rises up back to the top 10, going from 13-5. The last two weeks were Bieber's first and longest departure from the top 10 of the Social 50 chart.
Rounding out the top 10: Katy Perry went down from 1-2; One Direction fell from 2-3; Justin Timberlake went up from 6-4; Taylor Swift went down from 4-6; Eminem had a drop of 3-7; Ariana Grande went down from 7-8; Britney Spears placed No. 9; and Demi Lovato went from up 14-10.
