Fans didn't like the song being used as the team's anthem...
The Wall Street Journal reports that NFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals, have cut back on game-day plays of Katy Perry's song "Roar" after complaints from fans.
On Monday (September 16) the team introduced "Roar" as their pre-game, in-game, and post-game song during a match against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, fans did not approve of the song choice and complained about the tune on Twitter.
According to Jeff Berding, a representative for the Bengals: "I think some fans proved that there's an expectation that when the team takes the field, there should be more of a hard-rock, classic-rock song and I know that's what we're going to do [for the next game]. Katy Perry is not going to be the last song you hear before the team takes the field."
Another team, the Detroit Tigers, has gone on to say they intend to keep playing "Roar" at "most if not all... home games this season."
Perry's "Roar" is taken from her upcoming album, Prism, due out on October 28.
