Online Streams Of Badfinger's ‘Baby Blue’ Up 9000% After Finale Of Breaking Bad Posted by Joseph Lee on 10.01.2013
Metro reports that the song featured at the end of finale of Breaking Bad, Badfinger's 1971 song "Baby Blue", has had a 9000% increase in Spotify streams after the episode aired. Meanwhile, an upload on Youtube has already brought in 300,000 views.
The song was on the band's album Straight Up. It was used in the final moments of the episode that aired on Sunday night, just before the end credits. It was likely chosen for its blue reference, which of course is the color of Walter White's particular brand of crystal meth.
Bryan Cranston probably helped the popularity of the song, as he tweeted about it shortly after the episode aired.
The opening lyrics to Bad Finger's song at the show's end is Walt's prophecy, "I guess I got what I deserve...my baby blue"
Goodbye Mr White
