District Attorney To Decide This Week Whether To Prosecute Cee Lo Green On Rape Charges

It could end badly for Cee Lo...
TMZ reports that the LAPD is writing up a report this week that will decide if Cee Lo Green will be prosecuted for date rape. A woman accused Cee Lo of putting ecstasy in her drink at a downtown Los Angeles sushi restaurant last year. She said the next thing she remembered was waking up nude in a bed with Cee Lo in the room.
She also said she had a recording of Green apologizing multiple times and referencing MDMA, but Green's representatives have denied the claims.
LAPD submitted the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney but prosecutors demanded that they get more evidence. The re-investigation of the case took over five months. The DA reportedly wanted more toxicology information on if any drugs were found in the woman's system and what those drugs were. The process for screening for drugs takes months and is very expensive because different labs have different tests. Police may have also been looking for more witnesses as right now it's Green's word against the woman's and Green has denied everything.
When the report is finished, the LAPD will present it to the DA's office. That should happen either late this week or next week. However, it's still unlikely that the DA will have enough evidence to prosecute.
