Putting the other pop stars in their place...
New York Daily News reports that Beyonce may be planning to release her album in the fourth quarter of this year to knock releases by names like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus out of the spotlight. She recorded the music a few weeks ago.
She is waiting to release until early December so the album will arrive after Gaga, Perry and Cyrus release their albums. She planned to release a song earlier this year, but pushed it back when she realized she wouldn't have any competition.
A source said: "Many in the music industry have gotten intel that Beyoncé will put out a single in the fourth quarter, some time from late November to early December. It's an official single and it's timed perfectly to push out all the others. It will be out before the end of the year."
Ole Music Publishing is preparing the "massive " song and will soon give it to her label, Columbia Records. Pepsi paid for the release.
Another source says Beyonce has been trying hard to hide her progress on the album. She's only played the music briefly while filming the video, directed by Terry Richardson in Coney Island in August.
The current belief is that the song will debut on December 3.
The source added: "There is a noticeable hole in Columbia Records' Q4 release schedule and it's going to be Beyoncé's release."
That is the same day as Britney Spears' eighth album, Britney Jean. It's one of several albums out soon, including Gaga's ARTPOP on November 8, Perry's Prism on Friday and Cyrus' Bangerz already out. Mariah Carey will also have a new album out, The Art of Letting Go, which was postponed over the summer after she dislocated her shoulder during a music video shoot at 10ak in Chelsea. She called her album "one of the most important albums I've ever made in my life."
Beyonce's representative said there are "no confirmed dates" for the release of the new music yet.
