M.I.A. Says She Offered "Sexodus" to Madonna First

Madonna didn't think it was right for her...
Speaking to The Guardian, M.I.A. revealed that she offered the song "Sexodus," a track from her new album, to Madonna.
The two previously performed together at last year's Super Bowl halfime show and also collaborated on two tracks from Madonna's 2012 album, MDNA: "Give Me All your Luvin'" and "B-Day Song."
M.I.A. said that "Sexodus" also could've been recorded by Madonna. She said, "I actually played that song to Madonna when I wrote it and said, 'Oh you can have this.' She gave it back to me." Madonna felt the song was wrong for her, but the song did prompt a discussion between the two. M.I.A. added, "So I was like, what d'you do? And she said, 'You spend it!' And I said, no, I don't think that's the right answer."
When asked if this affected her opinion of Madonna, M.I.A. said, "No, because Madonna is true to Madonna. She always said she was a material girl."
"Sexodus" will appear on M.I.A.'s upcoming album, Matangi, due out on November 5.
