He's not out of the woods yet...
TMZ reports that while Chris Brown's assault charge has been dropped to a misdemeanor, it could still result in prison time if it's ruled he violated his probation from the 2009 Rihanna assault case.
The charge against him was reduced because the victim's injuries weren't severe and witness statements were conflicting. Brown won't have any jail time for the assault. However, the Los Angeles County Probation Department is investigating to see if he violated his probation.
A source said: "It's pretty clear he didn't keep his nose clean. It sure seems like a violation."
They will submit a report to the judge of that previous case and the District Attorney will likely ask the judge to revoke his probation. If his probation is revoked, he faces four years in prison.
