The war over "Blurred Lines" continues...
Marvin Gaye children have filed a countersuit against Robin Thicke disputing his claim that "Blurred Lines" isn't ripping off Gaye's song music. As you may recall, Thicke filed a pre-emptive lawsuit in August asking a court to rule that the song wasn't a copy of Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" after Gay's family suggested they were considering legal options.
Now, TMZ reports that Nona Gaye and Frankie Christian Gaye have filed documents noting that in interviews Thicke did with Billboard and GQ, he said that "Got to Give It Up" was one of his favorite songs and he wanted to "make something like that, something with that groove."
The countersuit also claims that Thicke's "Love After War" rips off Gaye's "After the Dance." They are asking for damages, including profits form the songs.
