CBS Airing Two-Hour Beatles TV Special in February 2014
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 11.14.2013

CBS has announced via an official press release that they will be airing a two-hour special on The Beatles in February 2014 called The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles. The special celebrates the 50th anniversary of the group's debut US performance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

The special will air on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 8-10PM ET. The special will tape a day after the Grammys on Monday, January 27. It will also showcase the legacy of the band.

According to CBS, "today's top artists" will be covering songs performed by the Beatles while appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show, and also other songs throughout their illustrious music career. Other presenters are set to highlight the cultural and musical impact The Beatles have had throughout history.

Speaking on the event, Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Academy stated: "As the Grammy Awards are music's biggest night, it's only fitting that we recognize this milestone moment in music history and pay tribute to this larger-than-life group and their enduring music and legacy."

The special is being produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures. Ken Ehrlich is serving as executive producer.
