Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" is #1, as it was "tagged" (identified sonically) 17.8 million times worldwide and 5.6 million times in the US. Next was Avicii's "Wake Me up" with 14.7 million and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" at 13.6 million tags. Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us" landed at #4 and "Same Love" hit #10. Lorde's "Royals" was the second domestically with 5.1, with Pink's "Just Give Me A Reason" at 4.4 million.
Shazam also put a list together of the songs and syncs used on popular TV shows. Bad Finger's "Baby Blue", used in the finale of Breaking Bad, was tagged over 43,000 times. Icona Pop's "I Love It", featured on Girls, was tagged 2 million times domestically.
The year-end report also made predictions for 2014 with artists to watch, including Action Bronson, August Alsina, Kid Ink, Rich Homie Quan, Banks, Jhené Aiko, Sam Smith, Vance Joy, DJ Martin Garrix and Lucy Hale.
