Michael Jackson’s Family Filed Paperwork for New Trial in Wrongful Death Lawsuit
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 12.04.2013

Rolling Stone reports that the family of late popstar Michael Jackson is going to pursue a new trial in their wrongful death lawsuit despite a jury ruling that AEG was not at fault for Jackson's death in 2009.

Attorneys for Katherine Jackson and Jackson's three children filed paperwork on Monday (December 2) that claims misconduct in the trial's jury and insufficient evidences as grounds for a new trial. Legal documents also indicate that the Jackson family is claiming they have new evidence to present should said trial occur.

The trial concluded last October, and the jury found that despite accusations, Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray was competent to treat Jackson. Murray was later found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 after Jackson died from a lethal dose of propofol. He was later released in October 2013 due to prison overcrowding after serving half of his four-year sentence.
