Eminem and Rihanna Take #1 Spot On Billboard Hot 100
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.11.2013

Billboard reports that Eminem and Rihanna have stopped Miley Cyrus after only one week to claim #1 on the Hot 100. Rihanna has now tied Michael Jackson for the third-most #1 songs in the Hot 100, with 13. Here is an updated look at the acts with the most #1s going back to the creation of the chart on August 4, 1958:

20, the Beatles
18, Mariah Carey
13, Michael Jackson
13, Rihanna
12, Madonna
12, the Supremes
11, Whitney Houston
10, Janet Jackson
10, Stevie Wonder

Her first week came with "SOS" on May 13, 2006. It's taken her seven years, seven months and eight days to get thirteen songs at #1, the fastest amount of time for a woman. Mariah Carey took seven years, eight months and nineteen days between 1990's "Vision of Love" through 1998's "My All". The Beatles are the only act to get thirteen quicker, with only three years and seventeen days between 1964's "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and 1967's "Penny Lane." Michael Jackson had 23 years between 1972's "Ben" (his first solo #1) and 1995's "You Are Not Alone".

Meanwhile, Eminem has tied the record for most Hot 100 #1s among rappers with five. Here is a look at that list:

5, Diddy
5, Eminem
5, Ludacris
4, 50 Cent
4, Jay Z
4, Nelly
4, T.I.
4, Kanye West

The song is also Eminem and Rihanna's second shared Hot 100 #1 after "Love the Way You Lie". Rihanna has had lead billing on ten of her thirteen #1s and featured in the other three. The song was on top of the chart for seven weeks in 2010. The last two solo artists to team up for multiple Hot 100 #1s before Eminem and Rihanna were Nelly Furtado and Timbaland. Furtado was the lead act for "Promiscuous", which led for six weeks in 2006. For two weeks in 2007, Timbaland's "Give It To Me" (which featured Furtado and Justin Timberlake) was on top.

Here is this week's Hot 100 top ten:

1. Eminem (ft. Rihanna) - "The Monster"
2. Pitbull (ft. Ke$ha) - "Timber"
3. OneRepublic - "Counting Stars"
4. Lorde - "Royals"
5. Miley Cyrus - "Wrecking Ball"
6. Avicii - "Wake Me Up!"
7. Imagine Dragons - "Demons"
8. A Great Big World (ft. Christina Aguilera) - "Say Something"
9. Passenger - "Let Her Go"
10. Drake (ft. Majid Jordan) - "Hold On, We're Going Home"
