The Beatles and Kris Kristofferson To Receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards

CBS News reports that the Beatles, Kris Kristofferson, the Isley Brothers and electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk will be given the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement at the 2014 Grammy Awards on January 26. Honorees also include Creole musician Clifton Chenier, Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero, rock and roll photographer Jim Marshall and Italian composer Ennio Morricone. Emile Berliner, the inventor of the gramophone, will posthumously get the Technical Grammy Award.
Paul McCartney is in the running for three awards at this year's event. There will also be a Beatles 50th anniversary special to go along with the ceremony. Jay Z leads this year's nominees with nine while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have several big nominations.
