Coldplay Play Surprise Show At Somerset Bar
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.17.2013

The Western Daily Press reports that Coldplay played a surprise show at the Ring O Bells bar in Compton Martin, Somerset. They were joined by Lewis Watson, Royal Blood, Conor Maynard, Chas n' Dave and Becky Hill. The show was organized by Warner Bros/Parlophone chairman Miles Leonard. It was a staff Christmas party but some of the locals were allowed in.

Other high profile guests included Lily Allen and Glastonbury Festival's Emily Eavis. Eavis tweeted: "Coldplay played at the ring o bells on the Mendip hills in Somerset last night, it was great!"

The concert lasted for an hour. Security was tight as the show was invitation only.

The Ring O Bells tweeted: "As you may have heard, We're extremely lucky and privileged to have hosted Parlephone and Warner Bros private party last night... And yes Coldplay performed along with some other great artists. It was an incredible evening and a once in a lifetime experience... And I'd like to thank everyone who made it possible. Can't wait for Christmas and New years... hope to see everyone in the pub soon."

Bar spokesperson Dana Day added: "Everyone including all the Ring O Bells staff had a great time and recognised that this was a memorable one off event."

Kylie Minogue, Tinie Tempah, Eliza Doolittle and Gabrielle Aplin have all performed at the location. The next acts to perform this Saturday include Midsomer Nation and Radstock Silver Band.

Coldplay's secretary Heather Allard said: "We'd like to just say that we're honoured to follow such a famous group of musicians. We haven't performed there before and for information it's not our full band turning up, just a very small group to play carols."

Meanwhile, Coldplay fan site Coldplaying revealed the track list for the show:

'The Scientist'
'God Put A Smile Upon My Face'
'Fix You' (crossed out)
'Viva La Vida'
'Charlie Brown'
'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall'
'Christmas Lights'
