Lily Allen Talks About Her New Song "Chipping Norton"
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.03.2014

In an interview with Q (via NME), Lily Allen spoke about her new song called "Chipping Norton". She said the song is about David Cameron, Rebekah Brooks and the Milly Dowler phone hacking scandal. She said she wrote the song about a party she went to in 2011 at publicist Matthew Freud's house, days before news of the scandal broke. The trial is ongoing.

She said: "It's a song about that party and our relationship with people that print newspapers. We shouldn't talk about that until that court case is over."

She also said she wrote a song about the miscarriage she had in 2010 when she was six months pregnant.

Collaborators on her new album include Kid Harpoon (Florence and the Machine, Jessie Ware) and DJ Dahi (Kendrick Lamar). She said the sound of the new songs are "dreamy sounding, derived from trip-hop, while some of it's more electronic pop".
