Still doing well..
Almost three years after its release, Adele's album 21 is still doing very well and breaking records. Rolling Stone reports that it is the first ever digital album to sell over three million copies.
The album, according to Billboard, was the 21st best-selling album of the year after reigning on top in 2011 and 2012. No other album has been on top for two straight years. In 2012, it was the 21st album to sell over ten million copies, hitting diamond status in 92 weeks.
Adele had surgery at the end of 2011 to repair damaged vocal chords but came back with the theme song for Skyfall (which she co-wrote) and won the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Adele is rumored to be at work on a new album which may get released this year. Last February, after she won a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for a live version of "Set Fire to the Rain", she said she was meeting about a new album but hasn't been working as much since she gave birth to her son.
Sh said: "I've just been singing my baby nursery rhymes, so I don't really know what's cool and what's not. I'm definitely going to visit with [producer] Paul Epworth and talk about doing that again."
