American Idol Judges Talk About The Upcoming 13th Season

It starts tonight...
While speaking at a Q&A at Royce Hall on the UCLA Campus, the judges for American Idol season thirteen (Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, Keith Urban) spoke about the show's return, which happens tonight. Here are highlights:
Connick on how well they're getting along: "There were about twenty times when we got into it. But we love each other and it's based on respect."
Connick on which judge is hardest to impress: "I think we have a pretty low standard right now and yes I am hard to impress because I think we can do better than what's out there. Let's get really real. It has nothing to do with talent. It has to do with a standard. This is America man…It's the greatest country in the world. We have access to get any musical education…It's all on your phone."
Urban on advice for potential contestants: "I had a lot to learn about my craft. [A judge told me] 'You kind of just open your mouth and sound is coming out, but I can tell you enjoy it. Learn more about singing properly.'"
