The lowest sales week of all time..
Album sales in the US hit an all-time low last week. NME reports that the week ending January 12th saw the sale of 4.25 million albums amongst all albums sold, which bottomed out from the previous low of 4.49 million on October 27th, 2013.
The number was well below the 2013 weekly average of 5.57 million in sales, though it is important to note that January always sees a drop in sales following the Christmas sales boom. The all-time high sales week saw 45.4 million albums sold in late December of 2000.
