A DC police officer is in potential trouble...
Chris Brown can even get cops in trouble at this point. Billboard reports that police in the District of Columbia have launched an internal affairs investigation into statements made by a police officer after Brown allegedly punched a man in Washington.
According to the report, an unidentified acquaintance of Brown says he was told by the officer that the alleged victim claimed he was never hit. The officer denied having spoken with the acquaintance when asked by detectives, but a uniformed Secret Service officer at the scene has confirmed the acquaintance's story. The alleged victim also denied every saying that Brown didn't hit him.
An internal affairs investigator has spoken with an AP reporter who asked about the conversation and confirmed that a review of the incident is underway. Police Chief Chief Cathy Lanier said of the incident..."We are aware of the discrepancy among witness statements in the Chris Brown case. This is not uncommon in cases with multiple witnesses involved. We have received no complaint of misconduct on the part of any officer in this matter...Nobody has accused anybody of lying. One person says one thing, one person says something else. Nobody has made an allegation that an officer is lying."
