TMZ reports that the codeine company Actavis has commented on Justin Bieb'er use of the drug for "sizzurp" (aka "lean"). The Actavis (a mix of promethazine hydrochloride and codeine phosphate syrup), considered the top choice of codeine for the drug, is usually mixed with soda and a Jolly Rancher. Bieber gets his supply from outside of the country.
A representative for the brand says they do not condone the use of the product for illegal reasons. It's meant to be used for the temporary relief of coughs and upper respiratory symptoms including allergies and common colds only.
The representative added: "The company does not condone its use for any indications outside of this purpose."
However, the company would not comment on the fact that the product is being used regularly by high-end sizzurp users.
