The Purple One fights back...
If you know anything about Prince, you know that he is fanatically devoted to protecting his rights in regard to his music. The pop icon has proven that once again, as Scribd reports he has filed a $22 million lawsuit against people who have bootlegged his music.
The lawsuit was filed last week and listst twenty-two defendants, each sued for $1 million. Only two names are listed, those of Dan Chodera and Karina Jindrova. The rest are listed as DOES 1 through DOES 20. The suit targets a concert from 1983 that was shared via WorldOfBootleg.blogspot.com, which the suit calls "massive infringement and bootlegging of Prince's material."
The suit alleges that "each defendant is responsible for up to thousands of separate acts of infringement and bootlegging." It is uncertain if the case will go to trial.
