It was a set up...
TMZ reports that Soulja Boy's manager CEO Miami Mike said that Soulja believes police violated his rights by searching him when the found the loaded gun in his car. He also claimed that he never told them that he owned that gun.
A rapper by the name of Arab was driving Soulja's car, with Soulja riding shotgun, when they were pulled over for passing a stop sign. LAPD officers then found the loaded gun and arrested Soulja. Mike claims that a neighbor left the gun under the car seat and Soulja didn't know it was there. Soulja only told police that he owned the car.
Mike claims the police told Soulja that someone had to claim responsibility for the gun, but Soulja only said he owned the car, not the weapon. He believes the search was illegal because police didn't have probable cause.
According to police, the gun was in plain sight, which means they wouldn't need a warrant.
