And it will be "awesome"...
In an interview with the BBC's Zane Lowe on Radio 1, Dave Grohl spoke about the Foo Fighters' follow-up to 2011's Wasting Light, calling the new release "awesome".
The band previously posted a photo on Instagram of a feed of several master tapes with the quote "it's on". It was then confirmed that they were recording a new album, which will be their eighth. It was previously said that they would use a "previously unused" recording technique.
Grohl said: "We haven't really disclosed exactly what we are doing. We're doing something that no-one really knows about and we'll announce pretty soon I think. I know what it sounds like and I honestly think the entire concept is really going to take people by surprise and it sounds nuts. We recorded something the other day that's unlike anything we've ever done and it starts with a fuse and then it explodes."
While he didn't provide a time for the album's release, he said it would be "great".
