Queen's Greatest Hits LP Sets New Milestone in UK Sales

The album topped six million in the country...
Queen has become the first band to have a single album sell over six million copies in the UK. The Official Charts Company reports that the band's 1981 Greatest Hits compilation crossed that mark. The site says that the LP still manages to regularly sell several thousand copies per week despite its age. Six million copies would represent 9.5% of the UK population in theory (of course, assuming the copies all still exist and that no one bought multiple copies, neither of which are likely to be the case).
The album is, obviously, the best-selling album in UK history ahead of ABBA's Gold - Greatest Hits (5.1 million), the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (5.1 million), Adele's 21 (4.7 million) and Oasis' What's the Story Morning Glory? (4.6 million).
