Rihanna Reveals She Was Bankrupt In 2009 Thanks To Her Accountant
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.12.2014

TMZ reports that Rihanna claims that she was "effectively bankrupt" in 2009 due to the decisions made by her accountant at the time. In legal documents, she said that she had $11 million in cash at the start of that year. Because of the mistakes of her accountant, she had $2 million left at the end of the year and her expenses had doubled.

Her accountant approved of her decision to buy a house priced between $7 and $7.5 million. She took his advice and ended up selling the home for a $2 million loss. She also said that her 2009 "Last Girl on Earth" tour lost money but she was never told.

Rihanna has now sued her accountant for gross mismanagement. She's doing well now, however, as her net worth is estimated at $43 million.
