Just the festival tour..
Revolt TV reports that Big Boi said that Outkast will not be working on new music as part of their upcoming reunion. The duo will perform at over 40 festivals this summer, starting with Coachella in California (along with Muse and Arcade Fire) this April. They will also perform at the New York Governors Ball festival on June 6-8 on Randall's Island, as well as Bestival and Wireless in the UK.
Big Boi said: "No, no, no. We're just doing the tour only, just for the fans. That's all it is, just the tour. It's just the Outkast 20th year anniversary, just a way for us to celebrate with our fans, but there's no album in the works, no. We celebrating 20 years, a milestone in our careers, and it's for the fans. It's a long time to still be doing music at a high caliber and still be doing it."
It was previously rumored that Big Boi and Andre 3000 were working on solo albums. Producer Mr. DJ said they were both working at Stankonia Studios in Atlanta. They then announced the world festival tour to "celebrate the 20th anniversary of their unique and influential sound". The duo took a hiatus in 2007 and haven't performed together since 2004. This is the 20th anniversary of their debut album in 1994, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
